With the invention of Generative AI tools like ChatGPT, which can produce content in a very short amount of time, people were wondering how it would impact bloggers with many suspecting that blogging would be a thing of the past. Contrary to what was expected, generative AI tools have helped bloggers a lot. By bloggers, I not only mean independent blogs, I also mean blogs of organisations, companies and much more.
Gen AI tools help a blogger in many ways, from ideation phase to structuring phase. Here I am discussing some ways in which GenAI tool especially ChatGPT can help a blogger write better content.
Generating Ideas
Ideation phase is the first and foremost phase of blogging. Sometimes, the phase becomes frustrating as there are so many things to write on and we lack clarity. ChatGPT can help us generate blog post ideas with just a simple prompt. For example, if you want to write a blogpost on technical topic, you can ask ChatGPT “Suggest some blog post ideas for a technical blog” and it will provide you a list of blog titles that you can write on. It also suggests you what can you possibly write under each topic. Here is a glimpse of it.
As you can see, ChatGPT generates some ideas on which you can write and also provide suggestions on how you should approach your writing.
Generating Keywords for your niche
ChatGPT can generate keywords for your blog niche which we can incorporate in our blog posts. I have done it using a simple prompt and here are the results:
Structuring a blog post
Before writing a blog post, we need to plan a structure of the post. ChatGPT can obviously help us with it. It can give us a structure for the blog post we intent to write on. Here is an example:
Apart from the ways mentioned above, ChatGPT can also be used for other purposes. It can be used to make the blog post SEO friendly, find grammatical errors, general sections of the blog post and much more. One thing to keep in mind is that you can’t directly copy generated content to your blog post as GenAI content will mostly lack your writing style and also because it may give rise to plagiarism issues.
But you can surely use any GenAI tool to help you in the process of blogging. Ultimately, the content should be an original work of you. You can definitely use tools to help you in the process of blogging.
